This house is still a work in progress and we are working and progressing. We have big hopes and dreams for this big ol' house. In 5 years I will never remember the 'before'.
More importantly the kids are very happy here. They have transitioned amazingly well. Freakishly well, really. No tears. No one wants to to back to their 'real home'. Nothing. I'm very proud of them.
It just amazes me how much they trust us as parents. We tell them to get in a car, buckle up and off we go. We don't realize it (and they surely don't either) but they put all of their trust in us to get them their safely. And where we are taking them is a good place and we will be here for them. Now we take our kids to a whole new house. New rooms, new beds, new sounds, new smells and they trusted us. Amazing. They knew that this home now. Never turned back.
Damn I love my kids.
